MY STORY
Growing up as a first generation Arab-American, in a family that was too big for any indoor space- was hilarious. The fact that everyone in my family owned a restaurant, including my parents AND grandparents, meant I always had a job.
Traditional Middle-Eastern cooking was passed down from generation to generation. The recipes and stories came hand in hand. My love for food is rooted in memories. Cooking is how I reconnect with family that has passed. Somehow, making certain recipes and toiling in the difficulty of a dish, brings my ancestors back to me.
My family takes pride in who rolls the best grapeleaves, who makes the best stuffed Koosa, who’s baklava is the best... You get the picture. Quality is of utmost importance, and is showcased at every family gathering. Food is the centerpiece. Fellowship is everything else. Food and hospitality has always been a love language in my culture. Because of all this, I love sharing it with people.
Creating the original meal plan, "Za'atar Baby" was an opportunity to merge traditional with modern. Meal planning eliminated the overwhelm of cooking and restored the happiness. It was only fair for me to share my findings with the world.
My goal was to steal back time for people, to encourage people, and to share happiness with you all.
I hope this guide serves you.
